Wood County Recorder Julie Baumgardner has released a report covering the transactions of the recorder's office for the first quarter, Jan. 1 through March 31.
For this quarter, 1,019 deeds were recorded, compared to 1,167 deeds being recorded for the same quarter last year.
Also, 787 mortgages, with a valuation of $331.6 million were recorded for the quarter, compared to 1,434 mortgages, with a valuation of $244.4 million being recorded for the same quarter last year.
Numerous other documents were recorded, in addition to the above, for a total of 3,678 documents being recorded for this quarter, compared to 5,362 documents being recorded for the same quarter in 2013.
Baumgardner paid $194,001 into the county for this quarter, compared to $295,310 for the same quarter last year.
Of that total, $73,932 was paid directly into the county general fund, compared with $112,873 for the same quarter last year.
